Roles & Permissions helps the user to define the authority to users under different role to perform different transactions and functions in the application. Roles can be created on the basis of user type (Admin, Employee).There are two User types in the application by default i.e. Admin Role (with the asset location and category)and Employee Role (with the Asset Location).To define roles & permission, go to Menu, under the User settings accordion select Roles & Permissions:
The field in the form are explained below:
Role Name - Add Role Name
User Type –
Admin: Role created for Admin user type, when the user type is Admin in that case the Asset Location and Category is displayed. The users added under this role can only view assets whose permission is assigned.
Employee: Role created for Employee user type, when the user type is employee in that case the Asset Location is displayed. Employee user type has all the permissions except Application Settings and Advanced Settings. Such users can only view assigned assets.
Asset Location - User can select multiple locations from drop down
Category - User can select multiple categories from drop down
Description – Add description for the role created. The user can also define the modules that will be visible to the role as well as the functions a role can perform:
Assets - Permission to perform different transactions in the Asset module for example transferring asset, adding assets and updating them.
Inventory - Permission to perform different inventory functions like adding or moving inventory.
Reports - Permission to view reports.
Application Settings -Permission to view application settings.
Help Desk - Permission to view helpdesk i.e. manage tickets, PO, PR and GRN.
Schedules and Activities - Permission to schedule activities and preventive maintenance.
Audits and Physical Verifications - Permission to create audits and view reports.
Users - Permission to add users and manage roles and permission.
Advanced Settings - Permission to view like custom field, workflow, bar code etc.
Usage - Permission to perform usage monitoring.
System Logs - Permission to view barcode scanned, not scanned and notification logs.
Depreciation - Permission to view depreciation reports.
Help & Support - Permission to view Help & Support page.
Asset Fields Permissions -The user can choose the fields a user can add/update for assets.
Location Fields Permission -The user can choose the fields a user can add/update in case of locations.
The roles created will be displayed in the grid on the same page.
