Asset Infinity provides a powerful Form Builder tool that allows administrators to customize forms by adding new fields as per organizational requirements. One of the most frequently customized areas is the Add Asset Form, where you can add custom fields to capture asset-specific information.
This article walks you step-by-step through the process of creating custom fields using the Form Builder and also explains that the same method can be used for customizing other forms in the application.
Step 1: Navigate to Form Builder
Log in to your Asset Infinity account.

From the left navigation panel, click on Add Asset form.

Click on form builder edit icon. Form builder will open along with multiple option.
Step 2: Add a Custom Field
On
the right panel, you will find Field Types such as:
Text
Box
Dropdown
Number
Date
Picker
Checkbox
File
Upload
Radio
Button
Drag
the desired field type to the appropriate section on the Add Asset Form.
Drop
it where you want the new field to appear.
Step 3: Configure Field Properties
After dropping the field, click on newly added column then a configuration window will
appear. Fill in the following details:
Once done, click Save.
Step 4: Rearrange the Fields
Step 5: Save the Form Layout
After
adding and arranging all fields, click Save Layout in the top right
corner.
The
Add Asset Form is now updated and ready for use.
Step 6: Validate the Customized Form
Go
to Asset → Add Asset.
Confirm
the newly added custom field appears.

a test value to ensure it works as configured.
